This is a very short poem - my attempt to satisfy the requirements of a little Saturday night fun at http://dversepoets.com/2013/03/02/poetics-an-evening-of-short-verse/

I don't know if I'm doing it right, but I haven't much time.  ;0)

The Gardener

With hoe, he scraped away the weed
sowed seed with love, his need to feed.

    1. Brian, the way I garden, hoeing is far preferable to digging, which I don't do :)
      Thank you for your encouragement.

  3. yeah, this two liner tells much more than a two liner normally does. You have the soil, the weeds, seeds of love, and the multiple possibilities with needing to feed. Really very good. Thanks

  5. Two lines of perfect iambic tetrameter - and, as Fred has noted, you've managed to pack a lot into a little, which is what he was asking for.

  8. There's always something wonderful about working the ground and planting seeds. :) It seems like gardener knows what is true as he works.

  11. I read this, with a smile, full of sexual innuendo :O Sorry if that wasn't your intention; I can never escape my dirty, dirty mind. It totally works, though. The ideas of fertility and sexuality, obviously, are strongly intertwined. Thanks for the read ;)

  12. Ursa, do you know, it never occurred to me, which really surprised me - but you are right - it's all there to be read, whichever way you want to read it - maybe it was subliminal ;0) However, I have a friend who has written a saucy little song about "doing a lady's garden" - "Just the way she likes it done" - absolutely full of innuendo - I think you might like that! ;0)
    cheers

  14. Does the job perfectly, I would imagine. Amazing how much power you convey through a few well-chosen words.
